Catamaran Trip~ Varadero Cuba~ March 99

We went on a great day trip aboard this 50' Catamaran. I have been getting a lot of requests for information on this trip. If you are visiting Veradero, ask any tour representative about the catamaran trip that runs out of the Marina Gaviota. It is located at the end of the mainland. I forget the name of the company, however, just ask for the tour that stops at the dolphin place. They will know what you mean. The trip costs 70$USD pp and you are out for the whole day. This includes transportation to and from the marina, the trip, dolphin swim, snorkling, lobster feed and all you can drink. Not bad for seventy bucks. Overall the best thing we did the whole week, well worth it!!!

We left from the marina at the end of the mainland, along the coast for about an hour. The first stop was the dolphin research center, located in a walled area in the middle of the ocean.

We had a great visit with the dolphins, we got to swim with them too!

This was a lot of fun, my first encounter with real dolphins. I am the 3rd from left....

They seem to be pretty well fed by the trainers.

I think that I made a new friend!

After the Dolphins, we went snorkling from the boat. After that we made a stop on a remote island for a lobster dinner.:-) Then a relaxing afternoon on the beach before we set sail back to Varadero. Did I mention that the beer was flowing freely. Not a bad day after all, I could get used to this pretty quick.
