A correspondent says that the beach at Alvor can be very uncomfortable on a windy day.

Situated near Sagres.

You can find the most breathtaking deserted beaches here. A paradise for the real naturist. Some of the beaches can only be reached by boat (friendly fishermen are willing to take you there) or after a climb on the rocks. Anyway, it will be worthwhile the effort!

To get there, follow the main road to the west of the Algarve along Sagres until you get in Cabo São Vicente.

Galé (S)

Ingrinha (S)

To get there, follow the main road from Portimão to Sagres and take the exit to Praia Ingrinha/Praia Zavial. Go to the right where the road splits for Ingrinha and you will arrive at the beach of Ingrinha.

A correspondent says that the sign to Zavial is down when you approach from the west. Turn left at the traffic light in Raposeira.

Lagos / Ponta Da Piedade (S)

Praia Dona Ana

Situated to the west of Lagos. Unofficial nudebeach lying in a beautiful bay.

To get there follow the main road to Lagos, and then the signs that lead to the Dona Ana beach. The nudebeaches are locates in a bay next to the main beach.

Non-official nudebeach at about 40 km north of Figueira da Foz.

Salema (S)

Quinta dos Carriços

Some deserted bays to the left of the main beach of Salemo, at the feet of the rocks, give the possibility to bathe nude. In May 1999 you could really enjoy the sun and the sea here, since only 5 naturists visited these bays. The only disadvantage is that both (and especially) along the main beach and the beaches in the bays a lot of crabs and sea-stuff has been washed ashore as a result of the fishing activity.

To get there, follow the main road till you reach the car park in front of the beach of Salemo. Walk along the beach towards the rocks, pass the boats and the authentic fishermen houses till you reach the deserted bays.

Sesimbra (S)

Aldeia do Meco

Official nudebeach, about 5 km of sand nearby the camping Campimeco.

Zavial (S)

The beach of Zavial is made up of 3 parts: the main beach where you can find a tavern, a first bay to the left of the main beach that can be reached by climbing a few rocks (at least at high-water), and another part that is separated by some rocks further on (left side) where the naturist can be found.

The fascinating aspect of Zavial is that there is more than just an ordinary nudebeach. If you want to enter the real paradise, grab your bags and climb further on along the rocks. You will arrive in the most beautiful scenery with impressive sandy beaches and rock formations, breathtaking caves and so on. A true paradise for the naturist. End May 1999 we where the only people there! At low-water you can return to the main beach along the beach.

To get there, follow the main road from Portimão to Sagres and take the exit Praia Ingrinha/Praia Zavial. Take left (straight forward) where the road splits to the right towards Ingrinha. You will arrive at the beach of Zavial.

Beautiful sandy beaches, of which some are the first official nudebeaches of Portugal. The beaches are lying on the island of Tavira and can be reached by boat.

The beaches are situated on the island of Tavira, about 3 km to the west of the famous Praia do Baril, to the left of the beach of Pedras d'el Rei.
