The guiding philosophies at Miraval are Mindfulness and Life in Balance (tm). As you go about your day you're encouraged to keep these in mind, whether you're getting a massage, doing a challenge activity or lounging by the pool. You're also strongly encouraged to breath, properly of course :-)
From the Miraval Activities Schedule:
Each activity at Miraval provides an opportunity to bring you life more fully into
balance by providing a "door into the room of self-awareness and
self-acceptance." This is a practice of listening to our lives with a receptive
heart so that we might see and correct imbalance. This is what has traditionally
been referred to as "Mindfulness." Mindfulness practice has been shown to
be a powerful way of approaching our lives to bring balance, promote health and enjoy
life. The Benefits of "Life in Balance" are designed to last well beyond
your stay.
