Pattaya.
Here are some pictures that I took while in Pattaya.
I'm really quite happy about how some of them turned out! It may
even give you the feeling that it's a part of "Come Visit Thailand"
magazine or, but that could just be the layout?!
The reason why I was down in Pattaya was because the school
set up a "computer training (get away) weekend" for Sept. 11-13.
This was only the second time in four months I had been outside Bangkok,
so I made the most of it! While we were there Jared and I took a short
trip to a nearby botanical garden because the rest of the teachers were
in a presentation...in Thai of course. The name of the place escapes me
right now, but so do a lot of Thai names! It was really cool nonetheless.
I didn't expect to see animals there but apparently they had quite a lot
that you could get close to. The overall layout of the garden was really
beautiful as you can see by the waterfalls and orchids that were everywhere!
Here is a parrot!
Give it a name.

Here are
some wood carvings, the one of the right showing a typical Thai village
in days gone
by. A lot of work was put into this, as this is only a portion of the whole
carving that stands 8 feet tall by 10 wide. The character on the left is
that of a mythical figure in Thai culture usually seen at entrances as
he is a guardian to all who pass through...unless he feels you shouldn't
of course! This was part of the carving on the other side of the
first picture.
This
is how I would picture a Baroque style drive-thru window!
