The business turned out to be a helicopter service. The helicopter took us on a forty-five minute tour over the greater LA area. It was an incredible flight. We saw the city in a completely different way. Eugene's palm were hot and sweaty. I thought he was excited about the ride, but maybe he was a little nervous about what was going to happen later in the evening. Either way, he was on a natural high. Toward the end or the flight, we flew over the beach cities, which was absolutely gorgeous.
After the tour, we were dropped off on the top of the Trans America building in LA. We had an excellent dinner at The Tower restaurant, which is on the top floor of the building. The food and service were both great, and the view was absolutely gorgeous. It would have been the best place to pop the question, providing Eugene hadn’t forgotten the ring. Oops.
The limo driver drove us home, where he got on one knee and proposed. It was an evening neither one of us will forget. We had a gazebo wedding a year later on May 9th 1998 at The Golden Sails in Long Beach, California. We spent our honeymoon in beautiful Cancun, Mexico.
Eugene is of Japanese decent. He has a brother also living in Garden Grove, and several relatives in Hawaii. He was born in Honolulu, and moved here when he was two years old. He is now thirty-eight and works for a small courier service. He is currently working on a degree in Electronics Technology. He loves anything to do with aviation, machinery and electronics. He will be receiving his A.S. this semester from Long Beach City College. He is also in the process of trying to get his pilot's license. He used to road race motorcycles at several racetracks. Other hobbies include shooting, reading, computer gaming and net surfing.
Samantha was born in Long Beach, CA and lived in Los Alamitos most of her life. She has a sister who lives in Corona, and a brother who lives in Buena Park. They both have children that she loves dearly. Her parents live in Lake of the Woods which is near Frazier Park. She is thirty-five and works as a support technician for a computer software company in Fountain Valley, CA. She recently received her degree in Computer Applications. She loves the computer, and can never get enough of it. Just ask Eugene. Other hobbies include writing, reading, chatting on the net, and movie watching.
