Kathleen Welsby Milway, 30 September
1904 - 27 July 1999
The Rice family's maternal grandmother - Grandma or Great
Gran, depending on your generation! - died in July 1999 at the
ripe old age of 94 years. This page is an evolving testament to
her, to record aspects of her life which otherwise might
gradually be forgotten, and as one way to remember her by - a
grand old lady who loved a good strong cup of tea!
Grandma's funeral was held on Thursday July 29 at St
Eanswythe's Anglican church, Altona, Victoria. She was cremated
and her ashes returned to South Australia, the state of her birth,
and interred besides the ashes of her husband, Russell Henry
Oliver Milway, at St David's church, Burnside. Janet Rice, one of
Grandma's 9 grandchildren, delivered the eulogy at the funeral....Click here to read the
eulogy
