Spend A Week In Paradise

with a Cayman Island Timeshare and other Vacation Rentals!

Hello, my name is Brian and I would like to introduce you to my personal web page and favorite vacation spot, the Cayman Islands! (For your information I am an individual, not associated with any vacation or travel agency)

My wife and I went to a place called Morritt's Tortuga Club on the East end of Grand Cayman for our Honeymoon this past June. We enjoyed it so much we bought timeshare there. We saw it as a worthwhile investment! Unfortunatley my wife and I have busy careers, so it will be quite a while before we can enjoy this spot of paradise again. Which leads me to the purpose of my web page. Since I will not be using my weeks there, I am going to rent them out, till someday many years from now I can use them again, So... Anyone looking for an unbelievable vacation or honeymoon spot read on!

Some General Location information:

The Morritts's Tortuga Club is located on the East end (bottom right corner of map), or what I would call, the quiet side of the island. The airport is approximately 25 minutes away, about 20 miles. There are no highways on Cayman which is why the drive is a little long, but it is worth it to be on the best part of the island. The club is also about 25 minutes away from the famous seven mile beach, and 25 minutes from Georgetown (the big city as they call it, to me it's just a big town with lots of small shops and big banks!). It is really up to you whether you should rent a car, however the Club does have a daily bus that runs downtown at 9 a.m and returns around 3 p.m if you just want to be able to get downtown for a day or afternoon. Everything else you could want, can be found on the resort premises, which makes it such a great spot!

Diving

Fellow Divers and Snorkelers must read!

The Club has its own dive shop (Tortuga Divers), including three boats and a great staff. They offer three dives daily right from the Club's dock. They do a two tank dive in the morning (wall and shallow dives), and shallow dives in the afternoon. They also offer night dives. I went on eight dives while I was there, and everyone of them was incredible. I saw morea eels, baracuda, turtles, rays, millions of fish including gruper and tarpin, lobsters, and even though I did not see one, people on my dives saw reef sharks and nurse sharks as well. The colors of fish and coral made this one of the greatest experiences of my life as well as making me a new diving junkie as well. I enjoyed my dives so much I exposed five rolls of underwater film with all the pictures I took!! Also if you're not certified, the resort offers its own diving course. The snorkeling is also incredible. When I was not diving I was snorkeling. You can snorkel right off the beach! The beach is reef protected and the water is crystal clear. I saw baby baracuda and four foot tarpin while snorkeling as well as many other beautiful fish.

Cayman Fun

Things I recommend to do:

Stingray city: a must for anyone, swim in 2-4ft of water with large friendly stingrays!

Turtle farm: visit the turtle farm, and pick up and pet sea turtles, and sponsor the release of a turtle!

Pedro castle: cool view, and a little history never hurt anyone!

Lighthouse Restaurant: a great view, and great food

Casanova Restaurant: another great dinner spot in Georgetown

Botanical Gardens wilderness trail: it's like being in Jurassic park! Thats all I can say...

Snorkeling spots: Cemetary reef and Smith's Cove near Seven Mile Beach (fish are incredible here!)

These were just my favorites!!!!! There is so much more!!!!

The Price Of Paradise

OK here's the cost of what I am offering:

Simple, I am charging $975.00/Week from January through December. This is over $225 to $900 cheaper than the resort depending on time of year! How and why do I do this? Well I believe quanity versus charging alot for one rental is a better plan for success in the long run. The only thing this price does not include is utilities (which range between $20-30 dollars a week depending on the water and electricity you use. When I was there, my wife and I spent 20 bucks a week on utilities). This price breaks down to less than $140.00 per night to spend a week on a Caribbean island!

Check-in is Friday,Saturday or Sundayat 4 p.m.and check-out is the following Friday, Saturday or Sunday at 10 a.m.

To show you some numbers, The Hyatt on Cayman for a deluxe suite charges $460.00 per night, the Marriot, $600.00 per night for a one bedroom suite. The Westin Casuarina Resort charges atleast $600.00 per night. These prices are from the hotel's own rate sheets (1999 rates). Even for just a hotel room, not a one bedroom suite, prices ranged from $200-$1000 dollars depending on the time of year. With my timeshare you get all the extra room plus the facilities AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!

What else will you need?

You will also need a credit card when you check in, this is for charges to the room ($500 available) you may make during the week. Charging things to the room is convient, they give you a card and you can put drinks, food, souvenirs, diving trips, etc., on a room charge and just pay one bill at the end. It saves you from having to carry your wallet or purse around all the time.

Reservations

I will handle all your accomodation reservation troubles. I can make reservations up to a year in advance, and possibly as early as one week. The best time is 30 days to a year out. I will expect half payment once the reservation is made. The other half is due 30 days prior to your trip. I will cancel the reservation if I am not paid prior to your trip (my discretion). If something should happen to your reservation, that was not of your control (resort or my fault) you will be refunded your full payment (if it is not your fault you should get your money back, fair is fair right?) If something should come up after you make a reservation, family emergency or some sort, and I can still get the week back from the resort or get another renter then I can also refund your money as well.

For reservations contact:

Brian or Courtney Colby at (915) 224-2889 daily between 10 a.m-7 p.m. central time, or email (email is best) b.colby@worldnet.att.net If you get the answering machine or if you email, just leave your name, number, question or request, and I will call or write you back that evening or soon after.

I can call Morritt's Tortuga Club for reservations Monday through Friday 8 a.m- 4 p.m.

Other Timeshare Rentals

What if I wanted to go somewhere else besides Cayman?

Great question! For those who know about timeshares, you know you can exchange your weeks with other facilities. Morritt's Tortuga Club is affiliated with RCI, a timeshare exchange company. If you would like to go somewhere else in the world I can also make reservations for that as well. There are extra costs involved in exchanges, but timeshares are almost always cheaper than hotels and often have alot more to offer. There are more variables with this so I can not give you a price here, but send me an email where you would like to go, when, and any other important info and I'll send you back some places you can look up, pick one from and I can make you reservations there. I have over 3,400 resorts around the world to chose from!!! With these it will still be a one bedroom suite I can exchange, and the more advance time I have, the better chance of getting my week exchanged to where you want to go (60 days to 1 yr in advance will probably lead to success). Feel free to email me, Brian Colby, with your request at b.colby@worldnet.att.net

Anything else???

Well I think that is it, my goal is to provide you with a vacation experience as wonderful as my own. I felt this place in the Cayman Islands was incredible and so did my wife which is why we purchased weeks there. I can not imagine any couple or family not having as great a time as we did . Please if you have any questions feel free to email me or call. Take care and God bless!

Brian R. Colby
