to Chelsea (03/25/87-05/16/01)
Chelsea was a special kitty.  She was born in a litter of kittens delivered by C-section.  Since her mother, Cricket, could not nurse, she was raised by our family friend Max.  We picked Chelsea from the litter of five kittens.  Here she is early in her days with the Quebe family.
As Chelsea grew up, she could be frequently found here (at left) in front of the pantry door, waiting for her next meal.  Chelsea was always very talkative and patient.  She had a special bond with her adoptive mother.  Later in life, when she developed diabetes, she was always willing to receive her twice daily insulin shots, never complaining.   In the winter months, she was a lap kitty.  In the evenings, she would wait patiently for Mother to find her way to the couch so Chelsea could rest in her lap.   If Mother sneezed, that was okay.  If anyone else sneezed, they'd get a serious meowing to.  We will miss Chelsea and her talkative, happy nature.  She was one of a kind.
