Mail
Info
It feels a bit selfish to
publish a page on the Internet telling people what they
should send us in the mail. However many of you have
asked and wanted to send us stuff but weren't sure the
best way to go about it. It's still best to mail
everything to our P.O box and not directly to the house.
Our address is:
Mike & Elisabeth
Jochum P.O. Box 6414/BDCD Bandung, West Java 40162A Indonesia
Letters or Postcards -
if you send us a letter it usually gets here in around
10 day. The kids really enjoy getting postcards and each
have a collection of thier own.
Packages - Packages are a
different story. If you send an average size package by ground in
most cases it takes aroung 2-4 months. Every package we get is opened by
the post office but nothing has ever been stollen from our packages.
If you use wrapping paper rarely are they opened. But be sure not to
send cash or something really expensive.
Air Mail or Express Delivery - hey
if you want to send something really fast (2 weeks) you can
send it airmail using DHL or Federal Express.
However be careful what you send. Some of you have sent videos
or even film and we had to pay a Airport tax on those items
that may have been more than their actual value. |

What to send?
This may vary depending on who you are sending it too.
To see what the kids are into take a look at their
pages, I'm sure they will give you some ideas. Here some
other ideas, most of which are quite cheap but really
received with great enthusiasum
- Send us some resent photo's
of you and your family via email or in a letter.
- the kids like those small American cereal
packs (Apple Jacks, Honey Nut Cheerios & Jungle Swirl Fruit
Loops are hard to get here or are really expensive).
- Marshmellows (we can now get Graham
crackers here).
- Medicine - we need all kinds but you better email Elisabeth
first for I'm clueless.
- Some good books (in
English). Check out Mikes wishlist on Amazon.com or
anything from the Mustard seed bookstore in Wayne.
- Any new Christian music or
contempory CD's. Mike likes Jazz as well.
- Windows CDROM games for
the kids.
- Videos of TV programs like
Nickalodian, or the Disney channel. We can also
watch VCD/DVD's on the computer. Other good family
programs from the TV would be good as well since TV
here is rather lacking.
- Football, ice skating,
ballet or Truck video's (for Dad, Mom, Kerrie &
Seth)
- Old PC Magazines if there is room in the
bottom of the box.
- Any kind of Candy like
- Peppermint Lifesavers (for Mike)
- Peppermint Breathsavors (for Elisabeth)
- Extra strenth Tums (for Mike)
- Simphony Chocolate ...
