- We are making plans to return to the states this
fall. We hope we can see many of you while we are there so send us
an email if you want to meet up. The kids continue in school and
Elisabeth has another month of teaching. My work at the University
continues as well as we roll out a Linux server running Lotus
Dominos. However Linux and Domino Administration is all new stuff
for me and giving me a lot of troubles. A couple new malls have
opened here in town since the new year. Kerrie & Elisabeth enjoy
going ice skating at an Ice rink located on the 3rd floor of
the closest mall. |

January 2002 - Even though it didn't snow it still felt like Christmas since this past December was filled with all sorts of holiday events. Both of the kids had special Holiday performaces and we were able to decorate the house early for Christmas. After Christmas we had a great family vacation in Jakarta for several days where we just enjoyed swimming, going bowling and eating out and riding the train. Its now time to get back to work and the feeling is not coming very easily. Our part of Indonesia has been relatively safe when compared to the events of this past October. We thank God for our protection and pray for this country's recovery and health in the coming year. The year we came poverty was at 11%. Now in 2001 it is reported that about 40% of the population lives below the poverty level and the average monthly income is between $30-$35 dollars. |
