Huang Mountain in Anhui Province

(also called HuangShan, which means Yellow Mountain)

HuangShan is one of the ten celebrated scenic spots in China.  There are lofty peaks, steep valleys, winding streams, charming plants and trees.  It is said that if one climbs HuangShan mountains, one will find other mountains nothing but rocks and hills.  HuangShan's scenery is based on its peaks, and it is beautiful for its pines.

Here are pictures I took of HuangShan's peaks and pines.

The following two HuangShan wonders are clips I got off of a brochure.  On the day I was there, the fog was too heavy to produce worthwhile pictures.

The Rock That Flew from Afar was once puzzled by people in ancient times.  They couldn't explain how the rock was positioned in such a strange way.  Scientists now concludes that the rock was a piece of meteor that flew from outer space and landed at one of HuangShan's peaks.

The Huge Turtle Peak is climbed by hundreds (if not thousands) of tourist daily.

Looking across the hotel Looking across our hotel is another hotel.  Behind it is the tea and herb field where local specialty leafs are picked, sun dried and sold.

Qizhou is a town along the Yangtze in the Anhui Province some 3 hours away from Huang Mountain.  Pollution might be a slight problem compare to the annual flooding of the river.
