Shanghai, Autonomous Region

Shanghai is the most populated city in China and one of the most economically prosperous.  Over 10 million people live in this city.  Walking in the streets of this city often makes one forget about socialistic China; there are shops and skyscrapers and neon lights everywhere, filled with capitalistic establishments and entrepreneurial spirits.  Constructions of new buildings, shops and restaurants, museums can be seen throughout the city.

Movie    This is a short flick I made in Shanghai showing the city horizon.

The Wai-Tan    This is a snapshot of the high-rises in Wai-Tan (meaning outside-beach).  The Pu-Jiang River (between the buildings and the people in picture, not shown) runs through the city making Shanghai an excellent trading post.

Nanjing Road    This is one of the main shopping districts of Shanghai.  The people of Shanghai love to shop and dine.

Night scene    This is taken near Nanjing Road at around 10:00pm.

Morning traffic    This picture was taken near the Shanghai train station on a Monday morning.  Commuters are rushing to work on their bikes and public transportations.

Inside the subway    This is taken on an early afternoon onboard a subway train.  Not too crowded here, but it can get much worse.
