Camps Bay is regarded by many as one of the two most beautiful beaches in Cape Town, and is often compared (by people who've been there!:) to the beaches of Miami... I wouldn't know if the comparison is fitting, but Camps Bay is probably my favourite beach in Cape Town, by a *tiny* margin over Clifton, because of the Pick 'n Pay in Camps Bay... Clifton doesn't have any decent shops nearby, and I like my beach experience combined with some crass commercialism thankyou very much. :)
These pics were all taken on the same day, in early November 2000, when Cape Town had a mini-heatwave of 30-degree (celsius) weather for 3 days running. The Ramadaan (Fast) was heading towards us quickly, so we all decided to take advantage of the good weather and enjoy the beaches fully while we could.

When: ... a few minutes before or after the previous pic, and that is the
view if you turn to your... left from the pic above. :) They all just scooted over so we
could get a different mountain and view in the background- that is Lion's Head (I think?),
which is the mountain that we walked up in the HIKE PHOTOS (that should have there own
section somewhere, check the Main Page).
That side of Cape Town (Atlantic Ocean side), the water is COLLLLLLD, that's why we are
all hanging onto each other for dear life... I ran in screaming like a girl that day, with
Riedwaan, and I managed to stay in for about a whole 5/ 10 minutes maybe, which is my best
in like 5 years! :) The other side of Cape Town (Indian Ocean side) has much warmer water,
but the beaches (and the eye candy;) are not as stunning; so we usually end up choosing
nice eye-candy over warmer water ;)
