In Oct. of 1999, my Mary Kate went to visit her brother and sisters in England. Lord, how I missed her! The trip gave rise to this page.
LONESOME
Sing to me those old - old love songs, like you used to do.
Put your sweet lips a little closer to mine.
Whisper softly those sweet words, like you used to do.
Tell me your love has not dimmed with time.

Pull my hoary head gently down onto your loving breast.
Look down gently on this old wrinkled face,
Remember the days when you told me you loved me best.
Remind me that I have won life's great race.

Sing to me those old - old love songs, like you used to do.
Put your sweet lips a little closer to mine.
Whisper softly those sweet words, like you used to do.
Tell me your love has not dimmed with time.

GONNA WASH MY BLUES AWAY
I'm gonna take that long walk, down to the ole river side,
Down in the valley where the river runs deep and wide,
Down in the valley where the warm sun never shines,
Gonna set me down and remember those good old times.

I'll sit me in the bend where the muddy water swirls round,
And if these bad - bad ole blues don't leave me,
I'm gonna jump right in that river and drown.
Oh darling please, take these bad ole blues away from me.

MARY KATE IS HOME AGAIN

Once again our halls and walls do ring,
My darlin Mary Kate shouts out to me,
You're nuttin but a lazy old ding-a-ling!

Pots and pans are now flying in the air.
Gotta sharpen up my dodging skills,
Or Mary Kate will surely part my hair.

No longer am I plagued by the stillness of the night.
No longer is the house filled with peace and quite.
No longer must I sigh and long for her sight.

No longer do I lay awake and pray for the coming day.
Mary Kate is home again! Hooray! Hooray!
