STAR WARS EPISODE 1
Yes I was finally able to see it. Although the 4:30 showing was sold out, me and some friends made it to the 5:00 show. Was it worth the wait? O Hell Yeah.
It will be hard to revue the movie without giving away anything, but I will do my best. To begin, the movie made for an excellent starting point for the Star Wars saga. It was nice to see familiar faces before I was supposed to know them. The effects were everything you would expect from a Lucas film. The cities, alien races, and vehicles were spectacular. And the fight scenes rivaled that of "Mortal Kombat". It wasn't the best story line of the Saga thus far, but it was what it needed to be... a beginning.
Would I go see it again? YES! Should you? Most definitely. ***1/2 ---->KGT
THE MUMMY
Okay, I will admit the only reason I saw "The Mummy" is that "Episode One" was sold out(due to greedy brats who feel they need to see the movie several times within the first month, thereby not allowing others to see it for the first time. But this is another topic.)
Anyway, "The Mummy" wasn't too bad. Excellent special effects made up for alot of plot loopholes and bad acting, scratch that, terrible acting by Brandon Frazier. Of course the movie is about a mummy and an ancient curse on a village. No spectacular twists in this one, just some excellent eye candy. It didn't feel like a waist of time, but I wont be seeing it again."
Oh yes, without trying to give anything away, you cannot destroy a city by pulling a lever!** ---->KGT
Someone had told me this movie was good. Bored out of my skull, stuck at home with the flu, I decided to go to the video store to get something to entertain myself. I picked this movie up purely on recommendation, not knowing what it was even about, read the cover and decided that, well okay, it'll be something to watch and pass the time. So, here it goes movie goers....................................
...In the flavor of Stand By Me, Simon Birch is a poingnant story of two twelve year old misfit boys, and all the things they experienced in 1964. The music is fun, the story will keep you roped in from beginning to end, the characters will possibly remind you of someone you knew when you were twelve.
It's on video - in the new releases. Get it...it will make you feel and remember. **** ---->dk
Anyone ever get sick of Denzel Washington being the same righteous stand up good guy? Here he is again, same holier than thou character. He is a die hard devoted cop ( like every third movie he is in) who is trying to stop terrorist attacks on New York while battling our own military. Bruce Willis stars as the Military General bad guy, who is forced to bring troops into New York to declare a state of marshal law. The movie is very long and has plot scenarios that you could read a mile away. It did have some good action and enough explosions to keep you awake. This movie is nothing new. Its a dollar night rental if nothing else is in your local rental store. ** ---->KGT
