Day 6...Palma (again)

After the talk from Calvia's Agenda 21 in the town council, we were free to roam about in Mallorca! Needless to say, I headed for Palma. Ann and I wanted to search for the Square that was supposed to have buskers and alfresco cafes.

This is the square

that Ann and I spent the afternoon enjoying the music and weather.....and she had a little siesta too!
Its also Ann's turn to cook dinner (but there's no photos as proof), and she had the mission to use up all the ingredients that are left in the fridge (sounds like an episode of Ready Steady Cook!).

Day 7....Walking..

Ann, Liz and I had a walk through the olive grooves and hills from Port De Soller to Deia today, covering almost 12 km. We had to leave for Palma at 8am, and then get another bus from Palma to Port De Soller. We started the walk at about 11am, and finished at about 4:30pm (where we had well-deserved cold Coke in Deia!)

Before the walk, full of energy!

The village of Deia, our destination!

And cheers to Ann, who walked with her amazing sandals (she went barefooted sometimes, feet reflexology, she claimed). But it was very much worthwhile waking up 7:30am and walking under the scorching midday sun, because the scenery was absolutely stunning! The cliff that looks like a turtle.

Mountain ranges.

We got back to Magaluf at about 6:30pm, exhausted.  The class had a fantastic meal at our favourite restaurant in the evening and no doubts that we are the noisiest table (hey! we are just having some chats on our last night in Mallorca!).

Indeed, this fieldtrip is well-organised and enjoyable. Three cheers to Alison and Jane for bringing us here!! Nevertheless, there was a slight hiccup the following morning: we 'missed' the coach to airport! Apparently, the Thompson staff sent the coach off to the airport without 16 of us!! What  a finale to the trip! But it was quite a sight with 4 white taxis following one after another on the highway, speeding their way to the airport, and we managed to get on the plane without Thompson's help!
