************ ~ TRAVEL SHOWCASE: West Coast Roadtrips & Getaways ~ ************
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ". . . be prepared . . . " -- Boy Scout Motto ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's some views of the beautiful state in which I live & play: Mount Rainier Our majestic Mount Rainier can be seen from all over the metropolitan area . . . we're just lucky the land lays as it does! ;D Mount Rainier too While other areas of the cascade and olympic mountain ranges provide fresh watersheds to their surrounding local communities, we are lucky enough to have a snow-capped Mount Rainier throughout the year. Yes, its that high! *grins* Deception Pass is another incredible and unique scenic scape. Its also known for its world class salmon fishing, but beware at the tide change as the Saltwater waterway experiences such dramatic change in waterflows that it earns its name with every tide change. You'd never guess at the backdoor of this lovely peak there are some incredible lakes with ample access and a quaint rural quietness. Lake Chelan Lake Chelan is a terrific little vacation getaway in the Cascade Mountain Range due north and east of metropolitan Seattle. Lake Chelan too The lake itself holds a unique fish called a mackinaw, one of the best inland salmon habitat around, and there is always decent trout fishing up in this lake with very good public access. Most of the hotels along hotel row have piers into the shallow end of the lake where trout are an entertaining catch. Cascade Range The Cascades hold some of the best local ski resorts, camping, hiking, natural springs/hot springs, recreation areas and fishing. Thousands flock to the Cascades during each peak season for different reasons, and the view is just a perk. ***************** ~~~ E N D: P I C S H O W C A S E ~~~ ***************** Lets focus on one of my passions ... T R A V E L ... I hope by now if you are anywhere near the West Coast, you've discovered the pleasure of Alaska Airlines and their website. ~~~www.alaskaair.com~~~ They post web specials that just can't be beat (if you can get away on short notice... you can strike quiet a bargain on roundtrip airfare watching this site). They post their most competitive rates on Wednesdays ... so bookmark it! Maui Rainbow I have done a few pleasure cruises -- and hope to do several more (just to prove I'm alive) *hehee*. I do like to fly & I have long-term plans to see destinations both on the mainland USA and abroad. I've been to CANADA: Vancouver/Brittish Columbia; MEXICO: Mazatlan HAWAII: Oahu, Maui & Kuaii; CALIFORNIA: Bay Area/San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego (and a few others); OREGON: Bend, Portland, Astoria, Seaside, Cannon Beach, Pendleton, La Grande: IDAHO: Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello UTAH: Salt Lake City NEVADA: Las Vegas FLORIDA: West Palm Beach, Miami ARIZONA: Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix & Tucson (Incl. the Grand Canyon & Lake Powell) OHIO: Columbus WASHINGTON: Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Tacoma, Bellingham, Longview/Kelso, Spokane, Yakima, Selah, nearly everywhere... (it is my home state...) ;P Pleasure travel beats business travel hands down. Business Trips are too hectic -- get there, get lost, have a meeting, shove groceries down your neck, maybe sleep/maybe not, come home then do all the dang laundry you soiled getting business done... blech! Use FareFinder whenever you price your airfare tickets... its a great resource for fair market airfare... and we can all use some decent comparison shopping. They may not always have THE ABSOLUTE LOWEST FARE, but they have all the lowest published fares for your rountrip travel from main airport destinations. ~~~http://farefineder.previewtravel.com/Farefinder2/frontpage~~~ Vacations International a.k.a. SunTerra Internationale is a pretty good deal for 40 years of vacation accommodations in five-star condominiums appropriated with lots of conveniences that make it a very affordable and comfy home away from home. Since I so adore traveling, I just gotta find a way to make this work. Traveling is the intangible experience that you cannot share completely until you immerse yourself in it. Its completely invigorating! Something old, something familiar, somehing wonderous... any dreams of the South Pacific vacation could be sold in a heartbeat... STAY BACK you travel agents *gigglez*. I also enjoy a really good road-trip... it warms the sould to get a change of scenery when the dulldroms set in. Its a good thing I'm an extrovert and do enjoy a fresh experience! I do like to peruse my options on the web too. I have mostly good experiences there. (Present webpage not withstanding.) *hahaa* Now go rest your weary eyes and dream of another sweet vacation spot . . .
