TOUR 1
"JABAL AL AKHDAR" OR "THE GREEN MOUNTAINS"

Cyrenaica the eastern region of Libya, Here the landscape is very attractive since the Jabal Al-Akhdar or the Green Mountain, is extremely scenic. Here the Greek cities which make up the Pentapolis of ancient Cyrenaica flourished. Most splendid among these is Cyrene whose planning and buildings were originallymodeled on those at Delphi. Beside these Greek cities the participants will also visit other places of interests relating to the Libyan history and culture.

Day 1.Reception in Benghazi.

Day 2. Tokra(Tauchera), Al-Merj, Gasr Libya Wadi Al Kuf and Al-Bayda. In the morning drive to Jabal Al-Akhdar (Green Mountains) with  short stopovers at Tokra (tauchera), Al-Merj, Gasr Libya and Wadi Al-Kuf to see the historical  sites and natural beauties. After Lunch at Al-Bayda, an open day for the participants for a free stroll in the city. Overnight stay at Al-Bayda.

Day 3.Susa and Ras El Hilal. In the morning make  a visit to Susa (Apollonia) and enjoy its natural beauty and see its small museum and Hellenistic and Roman remains. Afternoon visit Ras-El-Hilal to enjoy its natural beauty. Overnight stay at Al-Bayda.

Day 4.Slonta and Shahat (Cyrene).In the morning make a short trip to the ancient Libyan temple at Slonta, then return back to Shahat (Cyrene) and enjoy its fabulous Graeco/Roman monuments. Return to Al-Bayda for an overnight stay.

Day 5. Tolmeita (Ptolemais) and Benghazi.Resume journey towards Benghazi with a stopover at Tolmeita (Ptolomais). Part of the day is to be spent among Ptolomais to visit the town's museum and its spectacular Roman remains. After lunch on the beach or at a nearby natural scenic area, resume journey to Benghazi. Overnight Stay at Benghazi.

Day 6. Benghazi.A full day to be spent touring the city. Visits some of its old parts including mosques and other places of interest.

Day 7. Departure.
