We were asleep by 11 o'clock Saturday night and awoke by 8:30 Sunday morning. We were out on the slopes, planning to ski only half a day before moving our stuff from the Viking Lodge to Summit Ridge Lodge, where we were spending our actual anniversary night...but we were having too much fun, and our sore joints and muscles grew limber as we attempted the intermediate slopes and DIDN'T crash and burn! So we ended up skiing 'till around 3 o'clock...It was a beautiful day, but we knew it was time to return the skis when the snow turned slushy under the sun...our time on the slopes had come and gone. We were lucky to have been able to ski at all so early in the season! The Summit Ridge is a really nice place, and we enjoyed the luxuries of tea, coffee, a television, and most of all a BATH! Here, Mike video-tapes the room and ensuite for our personal memoirs.

Warily, we slipped into the soft silk robes provided by the lodge and had a nice warm cuppa while watching the cricket world cup finals in England (Australia beat Pakistan to win the whole thing on this night!). But Mike was very good and did not spend our anniversary night immersed in televised cricket--even if it was the biggest game of the year, for one-day cricket anyway...

We enjoyed a nice, long, and very hot bath and a nice bottle of French Champage (left us by Mom Bunin when she came to visit in February) before changing into our best clothes and going upstairs to the fireplace and lounge area where we had a marvelous 3-course meal (included, of course) and wonderful conversation with Max and Rosie, the owners who built Summit Ridge from the ground-up not more than 3 years ago...
