On days 1 and 4, we hiked up Moon Hill and two different peaks on the ridge behind Moon Hill.

[Image] Our group walking in the snow, we crossed a bridge and hiked up Moon Hill. We followed Katja, our 15 year old guide and Ruedi Sr, the 2 little girls Charlotte & Florina. There's lots of snow for this time of the year. Up Moon Hill, along a ridge, up Woosley Peak, 8140 m.. The peak is all covered in snow, the last bit is rotten rocks, Katja directs us. Incredible views. Bum sliding down the snow. Barry fell through the snow into icy water to his thighs, thankfully 5 minutes from the lodge. Snacks, relaxed a couple of hours before a delicious dinner of BBQ chicken, rice, veggies, spinach salad.
[Image] Day 4: same area, up Moon Hill then down into Boogie basin all covered in snow. Nadia says it's a lunar landscape without the snow (she was here last year). Up in snow then shale to the summit of Elk peak 8130 feet. it's quite impressive up there, lots of peaks, we see the ridge of the big Mt Moloch. I was slow coming down on the shale. Saw a goat on the ridge, he looked at us for a long time. We went back the high route. More bum sledding. This is our group at the base of Elm Peak.
