[Image] We're in the courtyard of the Kathmandu Guest House, checking our sleeping bags and getting our bags weighed before going on the trek

[Image] Durbar square in Kathmandu. I felt like I had gone back in time to the Medieval era.
[Image] We spent one night in Nagarkot, a rustic resort high above Kathmandu. We had an incredible view of the mountain tops and the valley below us. Here, we are sitting in front of our rooms, relaxing and soaking up the views.
[Image] A stupa in the gardens of Nagarkot.
[Image] Our tents at the Dhobato campsite. Behind us, Machapuchare, the Fish Tail mountain.
[Image] Taking a break on the trail by a rustic shelter.
[Image] My tentmate Darlene going up a dry ridge.
[Image] Breakfast at a high campsite, a fairly civilised affair.
[Image] The porters had been issued pink pants, mitts, socks and trainers and were very proud of their new clothes.
[Image] A porter carrying our Everest Trekking bags. They were so fast and strong, we were huffing and puffing, carrying only a daypack.
[Image] A porter taking a tea break in the hollow of a tree.
[Image] View of Copra Ridge (in the Annapurna range).
[Image] A sharpi with a view (our tent-toilet at Copra Ridge).
[Image] Breaking camp at Copra Ridge, Wang Chhu Sherpa and his wife.
[Image] It snowed at Kare Khola, our highest camp at 13,800 feet. Here, I'm standing by our tent in my trekking skirt.
[Image] Kare Tal, a sacred lake at 15,000 feet, was our trek destination. There was a magical feeling here. A look in the low buildings revealed offerings of copper dishes, candles, coins, seashells, etc.
[Image] I'm standing by the shrines at the sacred lake of Kare Tal.
[Image] Hiking down from Kare Tal. The snow added a magical quality to that day's hike. The mountain in the left corner is Annapurna South.
[Image] One of the many suspended bridges we crossed on the trail.
[Image] We're in a hotel in the village of Birethanti, looking out the door at another bridge. We had a beer to celebrate the end of the trek.
[Image] Darlene and I posing by our tent on the last morning of the trek.
[Image] Our porter getting ready to leave with our bags (last morning, outside of Birethanti)
[Image] In Pokhara after the trek, handing the staff their tip. We had also brought them some clothes.

My photos of Nepal are either prints from slides or taken with a disposable panoramic camera so the quality is not as good as the photos of my other trips. I have kept my comments to a minimum because there are many excellent web sites and guide books on travelling and trekking in Nepal.
