INTERNATIONAL COFFEE TRADE
African coffee merchants have been taking the brunt of the coffee industry's insatiable appetite for expansion.  For example, in southern Ethiopia, growers of the famous Yirgachaffe coffee bean have effectively pushed out of their lands by big industry.  The price given to these poor farmers for an entire season does not even equal the cost of one bag of raw coffee beans at the store.  Needless to say the are unable to afford the business they are in.
These such incidents are plagueing the attempt of coffee growers in undeveloped markets.  Here in the US, some concerted effordts to  aide the farmers has began.
