Summer in Indianapolis: 2004

After 8 months of thinking Clarebear was in the clear we found out that cancer markers in his follow-up blood tests were showing a return of the cancer. We spent the summer of 2004 in Indianapolis so Clarence could receive high dose chemotherapy and bone marrow/stem cell transplants.

We are forever grateful for the excellent care he received at Indiana University Hospital.

Clarence very romantically pointed out that this was our first apartment together. The canal was behind our apartment complex.
The canal led right into downtown Indy. Clarence's hospital room on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.
Clarence's Mom and Dad came for a visit. Clarence's Mom and Dad are looking good!
Shhhh. Gloves and mask are so fashionable.
I visited Conner Prairie, a living museum of 1816-1886, between Clarence's treatments. I also visited the nearby Indianapolis Zoo.
Rhinos are cool. Tortoise eating a sunflower.
The White River Gardens are next door to the zoo. Garden Entrance.
The orchids in the hot house were vibrant, and they drew butterflies too. Back at the hospital. This is pretty much the most activity my sweetie had during the both the two-week long stays.
