MY RESEARCH INTEREST
Virtually Every processing plant today uses one chemical or the other in it's processing or manufacturing activity.
Productive activities in processing plants involves the generation of "unwanted" (waste) materials which have to be handled properly in order not to contaminate the environment.
Most countries have adopted stringest environmental policies (drafted by such government agencies such as Environment Canada) and processing plants these days, do spend millions of U.S dollars on end-of-pipe treatment of their waste products in order to abide by the environmental policies.Besides, most progressive companies want to be identified as "Green Companies" who have adequate Health,Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies.
My research is focused on pollution prevention in chemical processing industries(CPI's) through modern engineering (Pinch Analysis, Process Modification/integration and Eco - Industrial Parks) and waste management techniques.("4R's")
The benefits of such techniques include the attainment of a cleaner environment for the society and increased savings for the CPI's since they do not have to handle what they do not produce.
