Arms of the Republic of the Congo The coat of arms was adopted in the 1960s. The upper says REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO, the lower has the state motto UNITE, TRAVAIL, PROGRES (Unity, Labour, Progress). Abolished in the times of the People's Republic (established 30th December, 1969). Restored with the multipartyism. Sources
