WHAT'S IN A NAME

My name (Manouge) is Irish and was originally spelt Minogue but (so the story goes) it was changed in 1924 for legal reasons - a Land Title office spelling error - by two brothers.  While one brother changed back to the original spelling, the other kept the new spelling and we have been suffering ever since with misconceptions on its pronunciation and origins.

We are not French and we still pronounce it as if it were spelt Minogue.

Born in Waikerie, South Australia in 1950 to Laurence and Eunice.  It was my grandfather who changed the name to its current spelling.  My interests are reasonably catholic but I have particular interest in Australian Rules football and politics.

I work in the Northern Territory Public Service for the Department of Corporate and Information Services in the information industry.
I became a computer programmer in 1967 and have been involved with them in all facets since then.

This is Cassie, my baby.  She is a Rottweiler/Rhodesian Ridgeback cross.  Cassie came to me at the local "Fred's Pass" Show where she was offered for a very good price.  She was really too young to leave her mother and this is shown in her fear of the dark which she is slowly overcoming.

She is a glutton and can hear the sound of the refrigerator door from a hundred paces waking out of a dead sleep.  Cass likes to chase anything that moves like birds, kangaroos, snakes and lizards. She loves cats (they taste like chicken).
