Anastasia
a.k.a. 'Stasia, 'Stas', 'Stasie

We got Anastasia from a family friend shortly after she had a litter of kittens (Anastasia, not the family friend).  We had originally intended to adopt an all black kitten from the litter but ended up taking Anastasia instead. 

Anastasia's Personality

Unlike most of our cats, Anastasia is a bit high-strung and easily excited.  When we moved into our new house it took her quite a while to adjust--getting used to the ceiling fan in the family room was one of the biggest hurdles she had to overcome.  Her deep, bassy purr belies her petite size and even with her flightiness she is a very loving cat and an excellent mouser.  Her absolute favorite thing in the world is to have her ears massaged--her tongue will loll out of her mouth and her eyes will all but roll back into her head after a few minutes of this heavenly delight. 

The Mole:  Most cats have their favorite bedtime activities when their owner(s) climb into bed for the night.  Rather than jump onto the bed like most cats, Anastasia will as often as not stand at the foot of the bed and climb up under the comforter.  If you then make little scratching noises atop the comforter she'll root around beneath it, just like a mole rooting around in your yard!
