This island is a geological oddity... it's actually the top of 2000ft (600m) high coral "pillar" rising from the ocean floor straight to the surface... thus very unique as a dive destination for wall diving... with reef walls plunge precipitously into bottomless blue depths...
This tiny island is a magnet for big pelagics that include white-tip, black-tip and leopard sharks, barracuda, jacks, snapper, mantas and even the occassional whale shark... it's not cheap but still a remarkable experience...
It's been called the world's best shore dive where divers' would enjoy 1st hand experience in unlimited beach dives... with a 2000ft vertical drop only a few feet from shore... so gear up, enter the water & off u go...
all divers visiting Sipadan must not miss out the spooky scenes at Turtle Cavern... legend has it that 2 green turtles were caught up in a passionate mating frenzy and found themselves trapped in the back of this cave, which soon became their tomb...
extraordinary sights... with tight-packed school of around 600 barracuda congregating in the early morning... are commonplace at Barracuda Point...
That's about it... if u do need some additional info... pliz mail to me or check out da links available...
