Prom!!!!!!

(Over-Priced, Over-Hyped, and Over-Done for YOUR Protection!!!)

Well, it seems that every May millions of High School students around the nation get spiffed up for one night of the year. This night entails the fashion-minded, the socialites, and everyone else who can manage to get invited. What is this culmination of over-priced, anorexic-minded parade of those decked out in the clothes that cost about 2 months salary. PROM, of course!

This year I was able to attend thanks to one of my best friends in the world, Emily!! Emily is the coolest person I know, and partner in crime. She and I have committed many crimes against humanities that can not even begin to rate on such a lowly page as mine, therefore I won't go into them. I want to thank Emily personally for inviting me, cause I don't know if I would of had much fun with any other girl! She is rad.

We went to the thing spiffed up, but not after taking a infinite number of pictures by family, friends, her family, her friends, the staff at Taco John's, random people we met on the street, and anyone else who could muster off a flash or two. Then, later that evening we would take the pictures that always turn out cheesy, and you have to pay lots of money for. Here is a picture that I thought turned out good myself, out of the 200 or so taken by the town that night.

Most proms are approximately 3 hours long. That is not including the time getting ready and dressed, and all the festivities such as the crowning of the king and queen. The reason that it is so long is for one sole reason. If you are going to pay $100 or more for a spiffy piece of clothing such as a tux or a dress, you want to get your moneys worth. This is a good theory, because it holds true. Most high school students hate paying for anything, much less getting a job. The money is nice, and is probably the sole reason we get jobs before the welfare system ushers us toward the job market. WE LOVE MONEY!!!!

The other thing that we love is having a good time. That is where the dancing and partying comes into the picture. Just spending a lot of money is not enough, we have to get some excitement out of it. For some it may be a night of dancing, a chance to see your friends, making memories of earlier years. Others may just enjoy the chance to get out of the house. Makes you wonder about the motives present on Prom Night.

So, how do the two relate?? How should I know, I just wanted to make up something clever to go up with this picture. *shrug* No, I am a High School student, and I too feel the pressures. Many entering High School or Prom for the first time may have questions. Hopefully one or more of these have been explained. If not........
