Sill sealer, a foam urethane insulation, is placed on the top of the foundation to prevent air leakage under the sills. Note the color coordinated shirt on the workman.	Rick drills holes in the first sill for the sill bolts: A small hole for the bolt and a larger hole to countersink the nut and washer. This is the first bit of real carpentry on this site.
The first sill is set in place, aligned, and the sill bolts are tightened: the first board on our new home.	At the end of a half day, we had put down 9 of the 14 sills.
The next day we finished the rest of the sill plates and received our first guests: Bob and Gerald.
