New House - August 99 - Building the first floor platform

The first day
On 2 August, we put a second plate on the first layer
and bolted plates to the steel I-beams.
The resulting sill was deemed level and we put up most of
the floor joists, leaving the stair openings for the next day.
Completed deck
By late afternoon on the second day, the entire
deck had been framed out with openings for the stairs
wood hoist, and utilities. All joists had solid blocking
in the middle of the span and along the the sides.
From the cellar
From below, it looked quite impressive.
End of the second day
Rick set planks to aid in setting the first row of plywood.
