PERU

An archeological treasureland, hidden in all corners of Peru are ancient sites of past civilizations.

In the Great Coastal Desert northern regions you find large ruins of the ChanChan culture. Consuming over eight square miles de "City of Mud" structures are an incredible stance of man´s creations against time. Also in this region are found the massive adobe pyramids of the Tucume civilizacion with the recently, and internationally famed, Tomb of the Lord of Sipan loaded with its riches of gold silver and precious items.

In the south are the intriguing Nazca Lines cut into the arid deser plains. These lines still remain a mystery even though many theories have been suggested as to who carved these wonders on the earth´s surface. The fact remains that it is an amazing accomplishment of the past and a pleasure for the present as a flight over the lines and the beautiful arid plains is unforgetable. Located nearby on the dry coastline is the Paracas Reserve which is a nature wonderland of lush islands where wildlife florishes. Sea Lions, Iguanas, Flamingos, Boobies and more frolick continuosly with no care in the world that human are wandering amist their territory.

And of course, high in the Andes mountain range are the fascinating archtectuural remains of the Inca dynnasty. Cuzco, is a colonial architectural drem tucked away in the Andes where the air is sthin and the scenery is breathtaking.. ]]The ciity was built on top of the Inca capital which is evident in the cobblestone street where colinial buildings perch on Inca walls. Truly colonial in its present day, but with all the viisible Incan structture one enncounters an emootional experience which muust havee been felt by the Spaniish conquerors 500 years ago when they fiirst arrived to the Incan capital city located in the very spot oof Cuzco.

Machu Picchu is an archtectural jewel hidden high above the Urubamba valley floor. Buried under the heavy jungle until this century was the Lost <Incan City. Being set in time for centuries, its original ¿name and the knoown purpose of thiis ciity reaching to the skies are unknown. The most popular hypothesis is that it was an outpost or fortress occuppied by the Incas as they resisted the Spanish invasion. Not only an amazing city of ruins, but an incredible viewpoint being set in the saddle of twin peaks. Standing on the point Huayna Picchu, one sees the ruisn of Machu Picchu bled harmoniously amid the jagged Andean range which melts into the distant horizon.

Lima, the countries largest city by far and most important port since colonial times holds tradition in both the heart; impeccable colonial buildings, and the new, great restaurants and shopping in galleries or markets, area of the ciity.
