Health Goals

How to get your life back into order – by Jennifer P. with the help of many multiple websites.

Here is where I will summarize what is needed in most people's lives to help them cope with everyday life and live to be as happy as they can be. On the next page I will go into details.

Step 1: Eat Right

Eat Breakfast within 1 hour of waking up, then every 2 hours after that: AM Snack, Lunch, PM snack, Dinner, Dessert

Remember to drink enough water (6 to 8 8oz glasses)

Step 2: Exercise daily

Min 10 min every day

Step 3: Meds

If you take medications make sure you keep to your dosing schedule

Step 4: Say something nice about yourself. (Some taken from FlyLady.net)

Step 5: Organize your schedule and check it daily

Go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time, try and eat at the same time.

Step 6: Money

Do your budget daily, know where you stand. Pay your bills it will make you feel so much better!

Step 7: Organize your living spaces, clean the clutter.

Take one area or thing at a time.

You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are. Your home did not get dirty in one day, so why do you think it needs to be clean in one day?

FlyLady’s Daily Paper patrol - keeps hot spots clear.

Spend 15 minutes each day dealing with papers. You can break it down into 5 minutes three times a day or do 15 minutes at one time. Throw away what is trash. Put your bills and mail you want to read in your special place and recycle your newspapers and magazines. Now set your timer and go attack a hotspot with paper clutter.

Step 8: Ask yourself are you depressed?

What is bothering you? Are you really sad most of the time?

Step 9: Relax, don’t be a Perfectionist (by Cheryl Richardson)

Step 10: Know your goals and make lists

Write down a master goals list, to do list, and wish list where it shows it all from hourly, daily, monthly, yearly tasks to projects you want to take on, to a wish list of things you would like to do.

Here are some little unknown facts from http://www.exerciseplus.com :

According to researchers, non-smokers who are consistently exposed to second hand smoke are 82% more likely to suffer a stroke.

A University of Wisconsin study found that cigarette smokers are more likely to have age-related hearing loss. Research suggests that this is because smoking can restrict blood flow to the inner ear.

According to a Louis Harris Poll for Ortho Pharmaceutical, three out of four adults ages 30 to 50 think that they don't look their age. Eighty-four percent of the women surveyed thought they looked younger, versus 69% of the men.

Researchers from the University of Chicago report that a lack of sleep impedes the body's ability to metabolize carbohydrates, increasing the potential for (and severity of) chronic disorders such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.

According to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, up to 50,000 deaths per year could be prevented if Americans consumed more folic acid. Good sources are leafy greens, bean sprouts, and orange juice.

A study at the University of Washington in Seattle revealed that consuming 5.5 grams of omega-3 fatty acids per month (equivalent to a four ounce serving of salmon) can reduce one's risk of cardiac arrest by 50%.
