Fred was born on April 28th, 1959 in Oakland, CA. He grew up in the east San Francisco bay area, and then lived in Simi Valley, CA for a fews years. He was told he would have to leave when when he was mistaken for being "colored" after picking up a nice tan at the beach one summer.
After not completing High School, Fred moved to North Carolina, where he was happy, until he realized that state law would not allow him to marry, due to the fact that he had no female relatives that lived in state.
From there, Fred drifted, alone and destitute, living off his wits and cunning. He spent a few years in the Philadelphia area, then wasted many years in Cleveland where he was briefly employed on the fire department's river-fire squad. While the people of Cleveland were filthy and vulgar, the weather was even worse. So from there...
...Fred moved back to California where he could easily engage in one of his favorite activities, fishing. This being the tail-end of the last great drought, Fred discovered a new method of fishing... he refers to it as the "wading out to the middle of the lake and grabbing them suckers before they suck up too much mud" method.
After spending his first couple of years in Bakersfield, where he was forced to leave after being driven to the brink of insanity by pure unadulterated mind-numbing boredom, Fred moved to Venice.
Venice proved to be the nice normal place that Fred had been searching for all these years. Life is good, Fred is happy. But the surf sucks, so stay tuned...hmmmm...anyone got a map to Hawaii?
Actually, my interests are varied and many... I love to surf; love to travel; like to work on my Mac Powerbook 5300c; appreciate beauty in any form; love life; love women; love animals(except Sharks & Grizzly bears); like to hike; love to walk; and most importantly to me...am happy just to be here and thank God for that every day.
UPDATE! About a year ago I bought an 34' Pace Arrow MotorHome. Since then I have been living in it and have now pretty much settled down in Brookings Oregon. Aside from being 100 feet from a great surf spot, surrounded by mountains and Redwood trees and some of the nicest people I've met anywhere, I am now close to my sister, Diana and her new husband, Jeff, and my oldest brother Alan, his wife, Robin, and their 2 kids, Jamie and Jenna.
People I admire: Rell Sunn ; Wishbone (what?...he's a dog?!) ; BB
