Cherries in the Snow

I love this recipe, as a dessert it's awesome ... as breakfast, well, it's cheating, but I won't tell :) Make sure you check out the bottom for a different suggestion.

Ingredients

(2) pkg. Dream Whip or (4 cups Cool Whip)
(2) 8oz. Cream Cheese
(2) cups powdered sugar
(1-2) cans cherry pie filling

CRUST
(2 1/2) cups graham cracker crumbs
(6) Tbs. sugar
(2/3) cup melted butter
(2) Tbs. water

How To

In a 13x9 pan, metal or glass, combine the graham cracker crumbs, butter sugar and water and spread across the bottom of the pan, packing down tight. If you spray the bottom with Pam before you put the crust in it will serve easier. Mix cream cheese & sugar together. Blend in whipped cream. Pour over crust. Pour pie filling over top. Keep refrigerated. If you want to change this to a low fat recipe, use the fat free cream cheese and whip cream, but be prepared, the consistancy is a bit runny, tastes ok, just doesn't look as pretty!!

~*~*~*My favorite alteration*~*~*~ Instead of the cherry pie filling, in the summer I like to use fresh strawberries, quarter them and mix into strawberry glaze (you can find it at the grocery usually next to the berries) and put that on half and use blueberry pie filling for the other half ... it is a perfect 4th of July dessert!!!! Plus, Dave's favorite are the blueberry and mine are the strawberry, so we each get our own half!!! LOL

Enjoy!!
