Welcome to Mikey's Vacation Pages

Guess what! You've just been invited over to see slides of our summer vacations. I'm a teacher [at Lanier Middle School, in Houston, TX], so the question, "What did you do on your summer vacation?" has come up a few times. My wife and I decided "show and tell" was better than just "tell".

The good part about being invited over to see these slides is.....

We're not going to show you hours and hours worth....unless you'd like
You can dress however you like [we're very casual], but bring your own popcorn

You can leave anytime you want

So, here's the deal. We [my wife, Minay, and I] try to take a driving trip each summer. We often go to see my mom on Martha's Vineyard, but we've taken a few shorter trips also. We're going to start by displaying our first extended trip--back in June of 1991--and work our way forward. We should be able to chronicle several trips, thanks to the new space allotments here at Geocities.

So, choose the slide tray you want from the list below....you're our guest, you should be able to choose....and we'll get started. Oh--I forgot to mention--there's only one vacation to choose from right now, but there will be more later on. Read the explanation.

Only the first of the vacations listed below is currently active. The others will come on-line in sequence. They will remain off-color until they can be linked to.

Slide Tray #1--First Vacation From Houston, TX, straight to North Carolina, then back, with some additional stops in Kentucky and Tennessee [Our Rain Tour], June 17th to June 25th, 1991.
Slide Tray #2--Second Vacation From Houston, TX, through Virginia [our Civil War Tour], into New England, staying on Martha's Vineyard a week, then driving back [with stops in Niagra Falls, Pennsylvania Amish Country, and Colonial Williamsburg], June 24th to July 20th, 1994.
Slide Tray #3--Third Vacation From Houston, TX, through Virginia, into New England, stopping on Martha's Vineyard, then back [with stops in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania], June 23rd to July 19th, 1996.
Slide Tray #4--Fourth Vacation A reasonable duplicate of Vacation #3 [with stops in a few different places on the way there and back], June and July, 1997.
Slide Tray #4--Fifth Vacation An unplanned, more-or-less last minute plane trip to Martha's Vineyard, Late July, 1998.
Slide Tray #6--Sixth Vacation From Houston, TX, meandering through Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Martha's Vineyard, down the East Coast, then heading back west, through the Carolinas, then home. [Our Lots of Rain, Visiting Saturn, Road Construction, and Other Stuff Tour], June 6th to July 5th, 1999.
