Creek Lands Chapter
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

CREEK LANDS CHAPTER was organized October 14, 1993, with twenty-one members. The Chapter was envisioned as one which would serve the needs and time constraints of working women, as well as provide a convenient geographic location for Broken Arrow Daughters living in south Tulsa and the smaller towns surrounding us such as Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, and Coweta.

The name, "Creek Lands" was chosen to reflect the history of the area, which was once a part of the Creek Nation's lands. Although Broken Arrow is our official home base, members live in a wide radius surrounding the community, and we certainly invite all Daughters looking for an evening meeting to come and join us!

Creek Lands Chapter members regularly provide receptions at the Naturalization Court welcoming new citizens to our great country. We are also active with the ROTC awards program in our high schools, having provided awards for outstanding ROTC seniors since the inception of the program in our local schools. We have been honored to present DAR Good Citizen medals to local high school students each of the past several years and hope to continue this in the coming years.

In our short 15 years, membership has increased to about 50 members. During this time, following guidelines for activities as provided in the Achievement Awards Program, we have been honored to receive many State and National certificates for our activities. A young and somewhat small chapter, we are very proud to boast members who have and are serving our Oklahoma State Society both as Officers and as State Committee Chairman... we are the home chapter for Oklahoma's 1997 Outstanding Junior Member; one of our DAR Good Citizenship winners went on to win the State DAR Good Citizenship Award. We have a CAR chapter that we want to continue to expand.

We are young, we are small... but we are enthusiastic! We eagerly anticipate continued growth of our membership and a corresponding increase in the Chapter activities.
