Well, I'm at it again. This time we are going with INFERGEN. I'll be doing 15mcg daily for 12 weeks. At the end of 12 weeks we will do another PCR. If I am undetected, I'll continue on this regime for a year. If not, I will stop.
During the 2 months that I was off treatment, my LFT's were on the rise. I was so happy to be off the Rebetron that I didn't really care, though! It felt so good to be "normal" again and to be able to function all day long. I got alot of things done around the house and was able to be there with my daughter when she gave birth to my first grandchild. Her daughter is just beautiful!
In this journal, I will start out with a daily report for the first 2 weeks. Starting in October 99, I'll go to a monthly one like the Rebetron journal. I'm real optimistic about this treatment. I truly believe that more is better and with daily dosing I think I will finally go undetected this time. I'm also doing a lot more interferon this time too as 15mcg equals about 5ml. This way I will be doing approximately 35ml weekly as opposed to 9ml with the combo.
I'll be keeping another Lab Report page on this treatment as well. I think we are doing labs every 2 weeks so I'll be updating it often. As before, we will be running CBC's with Differential and Chem Panel with Cholesterol. (Unilab ICN #2211).
I hope this journal helps those who are considering treatment to understand what they MAY go through. Please remember:
