As of May 12, 2001 there are 17,648 people on the Liver Transplant waiting list at UNOS. In 2000, there were 4,934 liver transplants performed. There are 121 Liver Transplant Programs in the United States.
The
number of patients removed from the UNOS Transplant List
for
Liver Transplant (in 1999) due to death was 1,753.
