The Storm by Night

Wind gusts rattled my window,
as I gazed into the sky;
in the black, silky night,
I realized, a storm was by.

The clouds started to darken,
as I clutched my covers in fear;
the first flash of lightning,
told me, the storm was near.

Specks of tiny rain,
moaned against my window;
more and more and more of it,
hit, my roof as so.

I wondered if the god up there,
had been crying, or getting strikes;
It was too quiet, for a second,
CRACK!   I screamed ''yikes!".

Splitter, Splatter, Splitter, Splatter,
went the rain drops, too my sight;
I started to Yawn, Ahhhh,
for it was the middle of night.

Lightning danced, through the sky,
the thunder, followed it;
rain, lightning, thunder,
just, never quit.

Then suddenly, the wind bellowed,
the thunder, not a peep, it be;
everything was quiet,
except the snoring, coming from me.

The End
