Well it's official, we've moved aboard. Our home now floats and hopefully sails too with all our stuff on board. After a week of organizing and moving some of our belongings around to relatives (in Westminster, Sharpsburg and Salisbury), we've packed up the cats and moved in. What a difference a day makes.
As we expected, the move has been a little stressful on the cats. They cried and cried in the car all the way to the boat as if someone were torturing them. Once on board, Atlas seemed to enjoy the change as he explored from one end to the other inside the boat. Then he looked up as if to say "Is this all!" Apollo on the other hand quickly found a place to hide in the v-berth, curled up under the sleeping bags and hoped this was all a bad dream. While Atlas ventured outside in the cockpit throughout the day, Apollo only tentatively placed his front paws outside once. It will be just a matter of time before we struggle to keep them inside!
But here is it is Sunday evening; the marina is clearing out and quieting down. It's been breezy all day, but now the wind has settled right down. The late daylight hours bring a soft light as the shadows lengthen and fade. The anxiety of the upcoming work week no longer plays on our mind. We feel a moment of freedom to relax and really enjoy the sunset.
