IMPRESSIONS

BY MARSH 1998

Just as sunlight falls
gently upon the scattered leaves,
melting the frost
which christened their borders,
and forming teardrops of moisture
to nourish the earth...

So too, does the warmth of friendship
reach our last vestiges of sorrow
and,
by turning pain into tears,
helps us to grow
and renew
that cycle of love...

For to commiserate with the spirit
of a friend is
to see the landscape of our soul
impressed
upon
their
hearts...
to open the door to a huge and
beautiful garden
and discover our own
footprints inside...
And, to feel,
even beyond emotion,
the absolute definition of
serenity."
