Snapjohns Peace of Mind Page
What would be a greater goal in life than peace of mind? What asset could be of more value to us than unshakable calmness and tranquility? What better evidence of spiritual strength could we have than a peaceful mind and heart?
Peace of mind comes from accepting what we can't control and taking responsibility for what we can. It grows out of faith in our Higher Power and our spiritual natures. It comes to us when we let ourselves go of our guilt, fear and doubt. It is the result of forgiving ourselves and others for all human imperfections.
We can discover freedom from tumultuous emotions and negative thoughts. We can learn that peace originates inside, not outside, of us. When we let go of our delusion that something someday will make us happy, we can concentrate on the peace and contentment of the present moment. Inner peace is always found in the here and now. It waits quietly for us to discover it.
We can turn our conscious minds away from worries, fear, regrets, expectations, and the business of our daily lives. Then all the love, beauty, joy, and peacefulness of our spiritual selves can come through.
Without peace of mind, no amount of wealth or good fortune can ever make us truly happy. With true peace of mind, no adversity or lack can ever disturb our calm center.
If I had but one wish for everyone, guaranteed to come true, it would be peace among people and nations, beginning with the peace inside each person. There is simply nothing in the world more valuable than peace, and it it within each of us to choose it as a conscious goal.
When we are at peace, we create and experience heaven on earth.
You have your own garden within yourself. You can always find it when you calm yourself.
