Just down the mountain from the main Timanfaya tourist centre there are camel rides. If you have never been on one before then it is an unforgettable (if at times slightly uncomfortable) experience. The camels are all very tame, as well as being muzzled, so there is no fear of being bitten.

As I mentioned in the section on Timanfaya it can get very windy up the mountain so make sure you take a jacket.
