One hundred years from now,
it will not matter what kind of car I drove,
what kind of house I lived in,
how much I had in my bank account,
nor what my clothes looked like.
But the world may be a little better because
I was important in the life of a child.

While walking along a beach, a man saw someone in the distance leaning down, picking something up and throwing it into the ocean.
As he came closer, he saw thousands of starfish the tide had thrown onto the beach. Unable to return to the ocean during low tide, the starfish
were dying. He observed a young man picking up the starfish one by one and throwing them back into the water.
After watching the seemingly futile effort, the observer said, "There must be thousands of starfish on this beach. It would be impossible
for you to get to all of them. There is simply too many. You can't possibly save enough to make a difference."
The young man smiled as he continued to pick up another starfish and toss it back into the ocean.
"It made a difference to that one," he replied.
I am only one,
but still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
but still I can do something.
I will not refuse to do the something I can do.

As sure as the sun rises in the east,
and sets in the west;
As sure as spring brings blooming flowers
and green, green leaves;
As sure as life will bring us joy
and sometimes sadness;
As sure as I am of my love for you
and that I will always be true.
