People knew only to well the short coming and limitation in using Webtv and one of this limitation is we don't have a view source.

I knew how frustrating it is, people with computer can take a peek at other's pages and we can't. Well don't despair help is on the way, by using "Validators".

On this page I will help you set it up on your webtv and provide step by step instruction. Are you ready? Then lets start.

First of all you need a validator. The web is full of them, if you can't find one use this one, A Kinder Gentler Html Validator at http://ugweb.cs.ualberta.ca/~gerald/ validate/ or just clicked here Now I want you to save it on your "favorite".

Now that you have a validator we'll set it up. Go to "favorite" and look up your validator now on the left side clicked on the "organize", it'll bring up a menu clicked on the short cut. Then look for the validator and clicked on it which will bring you to the short cut numbers F1-F7, choose one then press done. There you have it a view source.

Now, when you come to a page that you want to look for the source code press the option and press the info for the address of the page, copy the address and press the short cut number that you got the validator on, lets say you got it on F1, on the validator clicked on the source input never mind the weblint, pedantic or the parsee tree, all we want is the code, now enter the URL clicked on it and it will validate the URL, then press the "jump source listing" and there you have it the code for you to see.

Also when it didn't validate some times you don't have to put the "/" at the end of the URL especially when it's a "html" or sometimes you got the address wrong, just press on the "back" button which will bing you back to the page. Get the right address press the short cut and view the source code.

A little advice when viewing a webtv page sometimes they hide the address, to by-pass this press the option and press the goto then press the "show current" which will show the right address.

Lets do some exercise, Press the option and info copy my URL and press the short cut F1--F7 you got the validator on. Now press the "show source input" and then put my "URL", remember not to put "/" at the end of the "html" now press the URL, it now validated. Now press the "jump source listing", did you get my code? Also it's case sensitive so copy the URL as you see it, capital letters and all.
