Welcome to Disney's newest and wildest park, The Animal Kingdom. I have to appologize, a long time ago i said the AK would be a flop, i should have known better. The way Disney did this park was awesome and that's just what this park is. There are five lands:
AK Primer
Baby Facilities-The Baby Care Center can be found in in Safari Village behind Creature Comforts.
Cameras-film may dropped of for processing at Garden Gate Gifts near The Oasis, Disney Outfitters in Safari Village, Duka La Filimu and Mombasa Marketplace in Harambe, and Chester and Hester's Dinosaur Treasures in DinoLand U.S.A.
Early-Entry Days-The AK opens at 8:00 instead of the usual 9:00 that the other three parks do, therefore get there at 7:30, and it does not have an early entry day.
First Aid-At the First Aid Center on the Northwest side of the Tree of Life.
Info-Having a Problem with your ticket or the map, go to Guest Relations as you walk in The Oasis
Lockers-These can be found at Garden Gate Gifts and Guest Relations, both located as you walk in. $5 per day.
ATM's-Need some cash quick? Try the ATM at the entrance to the park, right near the Kennel Club.
Package Pickup-You can purchase something and have it sent either to you're room if you're staying on site with no charge or to this place, Garden Gate Gifts.
Re-Entry-Have your hand stamped before you leave
Strollers & Wheelchairs-Go to Garden Gate Gifts for these. Strollers and Wheelchairs are $5 and you only have to rent one in one park, if you go to MK or somewhere, show you're receipt to get another one. $30 for ECV's.
Tip Boards-There are two tip boards at Safari Village that give up-to-date info on ride lines.
THE OASIS-Leave the urban world behind and enter a lush tropical forest brimming with exotic birds and animals that greet you the moment you enter the Park. The Oasis is ringed by vine-covered crags that surround an enchanted world filled with streams, grottoes, flowering glades, and tumbling waterfalls that fill the air with cooling spray.
SAFARI VILLAGE-Encircled by Discovery River, this lush green island is your magical departure point for excursions into the different realms of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The vibrant centerpiece of the Park, Safari Village is adorned with colorful buildings that rise from the cool shadows of The Tree of Life.
CAMP MINNIE-MICKEY- Join your favorite Disney characters on vacation.
DINOLAND, U.S.A.- Pass under "Olden Gate Bridge," a 40-foot-tall Brachiosaurus reassembled from excavated fossils, and enter a land where dinosaurs come roaring back to life.
AFRICA- Travel halfway around the world and experience all the wonder that is Africa. Enter through the town of Harambe, a realistic representation of an African coastal village poised on the edge of the 21st century.
ASIA-Newest land in AK, this land feautures customs and other things from the great land of Asia. Now onto the attractions at the AK.
The Tree of Life- Like Cinderella Castle in the MK Park, The Tree of Life is the icon of Disney's Animal Kingdom. Located in Safari Village.
It's Tough to Be a Bug- Inside this 430-seat theater within The Tree of Life, a state-of-the-art 3-D show offers a humorous look at life from a bug's point of view. Located in Safari Village.
Character Greeting Pavilions- Lovable Disney Characters are ready to meet you and hear all about your jungle adventures. Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore greet you in a forest pavilion. Rafiki, Timon, and Baloo stand watch in the jungle pavilion. Minnie Mouse canbe found in her very own garden, and, when she's resting, Goofy and Pluto step in for a visit. And Mickey Mouse can be found in his own state park pavilion. Located in Camp Minnie Mickey.
Festival of the Lion King- A covered, 1,000-seat pavilion hosts "Festival of the Lion King," an incredible performance that combines the pageantry of a parade with the excitement of a tribal celebration. Camp Minnie Mickey.
Colors of the Wind - Friends from the Animal Forest- Pocahontas and Grandmother Willow welcome you to a cozy 350-seat theater that's home to this show as you all search for the protector of nature. Camp Minnie Mickey.
Countdown to Extinction- One minute you're entering the Dino Institute to study creatures that roamed the earth long ago, and the next you're hurtling back 65 million years to rescue the last dinosaur from extinction! This suspense-filled thrill ride brings you face to face with huge dinosaurs as a fiery asteroid hurtles toward Earth, bringing destruction in its wake. DINOLAND, U.S.A.
The Boneyard- It's your turn to play paleontologist as you slip, slither, slide, and crawl through this giant playground and dig site. DINOLAND, U.S.A.
Cretaceous Trail- Wander back in time as you stroll down a path filled with living plants and animal species that have survived since the age of the dinosaur. You'll encounter a Chinese alligator, Florida soft-shelled turtle, and red-legged seriama. DINOLAND, U.S.A
Kilimanjaro Safaris- This incredible journey spans more than 100 lush acres of savanna, forest, rivers, and rocky hills -- all graced with hundreds of free roaming animals. You'll board a trackless safari vehicle, where a Bush Pilot and a Wildlife Researcher help narrate your adventure. Africa. The Temple Ruins- With two huge monument towers rising 50 feet into the sky, the ancient temple ruins lie on a small island, making it the perfect home for a pair of black siamang gibbons who regularly climb the giant towers to greet visitors to Anandapur. Asia.
Kali River Rapids- Beyond the painted shrines and colorful courtyards of the village circle the raging waters of a river called Chakranadi. Step aboard a raft into the mystical, jasmine-scented mist that borders the old-growth rain forest. Once deep in the wild, you discover that something has gone very wrong. The waters rush. The rapids surge and roar. Waves splash into your raft and send it spinning farther down the river. Fire surrounds you. Geysers explode. This ride is sure to attract a big line, so be prepared. Asia
