How to get a visa
Most visitors to Russia must present a
passport valid for three months, a visa, and a return or onward travel
ticket. These requirements vary from country to country. Consult Russian

Tip: obtaining
a Russian visa could be a time consuming process in some countries.
Customs
A customs form must be completed and retained for
departure. Import of these items is prohibited: military weapons and
ammunition; pornography; narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Exporting
antiquities without special permission is prohibited.
Money
Russia's monetary unit is the ruble, which is
divided into 100 kopecks. Coins are available in denominations of
1, 5, 10, and 50 kopeks and 1,2 and 5 roubles. Banknotes are available
in denominations of 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 roubles.
Tip: the
best hard currency to bring is US dollars. DM and FIM are also popular,
exchange rates for other currencies are not good.
