It is a French village in the southern part of the Ardèche, close to the famous Gorges. It is a rather quiet place, although there are enough facilities for sport and cultural visits. Nearly all the interesting places in the southern part of France can be reached in a day trip. Nîmes, Arles, Orange, Avignon and a lot of other interesting spots in the Provence can be visited easily. For spending the night there are some campings, one hotel, some "Gîtes", and two Chambres d'Hôtes. This system is comparable with Bed and Beakfast. Those who would like to try it should contact Pascale Spiga from Les Chabannes, or Sylvette Mialon from La Martinade. In La Martinade, there is a possibility to have dinner with the hosts, which will give you a lot of opportunities for an interesting international discussion and an excellent meal (where the knowledge of some French can be usefull, but is not indispensable, as Sylvette speaks English with a good accent!) . After a long hot day Pascale offers you free use of her cool swimming pool. If you would like to have an idea of the region take a look at these pictures , and Saint Remèze. |
