With
state festival out of the way, the Silver Regiment took a slight
field-trip out to tampa bay, FL. After spending the night by
the pool in a Days' Inn, the SR went to Bush Gardens: Tampa Bay to
chill out for the day.
Last
week the Silver Regiment went to Lakeland, FL and participated in
the annual FBA State Concert Festival. The songs played
were: Valdres - Hanssen/Bainum, Pageant - Persichetti, and
Variants on a Medieval Tune - Dello Joio. The judges were
Dr. John C. Carmichael, Dr. Don M. McLaurin, Dr. John T.
West and Dr. Kenneth E. Williams. The Final Rating
awarded to Wind Ensemble was straight excellents. Jeremy
Goldberg however got a superior on his student conductor
piece. Other Seminole County schools, including Oviedo, Lake
Brantley, and Lake Mary did relatively better, receiving superior
ratings.

The
Silver Regiment has got it's first look at next years marching
show this week! Ron Ellis, assistant director of bands at
UCF has been aranging the show based on"The Rocketeer"
and brought in a beta version of the show for Wind Ensemble
and Symphonic Band to test play.
Well,
with summer vacation here I have found myself with a bit too much
free time! so guess what that means? A new design for the
website! To the left you will find the site map to different
areas of the website, plus additional links to the different
regions of the main area you are in at the time. To the
right you will find links to current news in the Silver
Regiment. And then obviously, the middle will feature the
'beef' of the story. Transferring files from the old style
to the new one may take some time though so please be patient as I
work on it, I'll try to keep all the old portions online until the
new ones are up, but if you get a missing link or what not, please
be patient.
